Dissemination of mY/AIDS education using minimedia in Ethiopian secondary schools isrnessential to educate the youth about the danger of AIDS. This study is, therefore, designed torninvestigate and describe the state of disse.m ination of HIV /A IDS education using secondaryrnschools minimedia. Survey method was used to conduct the research. The study wasrnconducted at relevant schools and organizations (six secondary schools, six regional and zonalrneducation departments, three zonal health departments and three non-governmentalrnorganizations). The data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and observationrnchecklist. The obtained data were analyzed mainly using percentages in a qualitative way.rnAll respondents believed that minimedia has a strong potential to disseminate mv / AIDSrneducation. But programme producers, minimedia coordinators and directors have not hadrnmedia training. There were some schools that did not have cables for the loudspeakers,rnamplifiers, loudspeakers and other necessary equipment to start the minimedia programmes.rnThe cooperation among schools, governmental and non-governmental organizations is weakrnto disseminate HIV / AIDS education programmes using minimedia.rnIn light of these findings, Programme producers, club coordinators and directors requirernmedia training, moral and material support both from governmental and non governmentalrnorganizations. The school minimedia should be well equipped to be able to produce andrndisseminate programmes, particularly HIV / AIDS education programmes, that would bringrnbehavioral change and alleviate the problem ofHIV/AIDS.rnThe cooperation of schools, governmental and non-governmental organization is required tornexploit the potential uses of school minimedia in disseminating HN / AIDS programmes andrnother vital programmes in the schools
