In this paper evaluation of achievement of MOGs has been undertaken. Based on this,rnLOCs are out of truck in achieving most of the MOGs though; some unevenrnachievements were recorded in these countries. The proportion of people living belowrnpoverty line was declined from 40.4 and 45.5 percent of the 1990 average to 36.1 andrn38.7 percent in 2006 in LOCs and in Ethiopia respectively. Net primary education wasrnincreased from 72 to 78 Percent in LOCs (average) and from 22 to 67.8 percent inrnEthiopia during the same period respectively. Similarl y, the ratio of girls to boys inrnprimary and secondary education was increased from 0.76 in 1990 to 0.89 in 2006 inrnLOCs (average); while it was increased from 0.68 to 0.81 in Ethiopia during this period.rnIn reducing under- five mortality rate and infant mortality rate (mortality rate of childrenrnof below one year old), while in LOCs under- five and infant mortality rates werernreduced from 180 and 113 per 1000 live birth of the 1990 average to 142 and 90 inrn2006 respectively; in Ethiopia under-five and infant mortality rates were reduced fromrn204 and122 of the 1990 figure to 123 and 80 in 2006 respectively. Regarding maternalrnmortality rates, it was red uced from 890 and 850 in 2000 to 870 and 720 in 2006 inrnLOCs (average) and in Ethiopia respectively. In reversing the spread of HIV/AOIS andrnincidence of malari a, HIV prevalence rate was reduced from 2.29 and 2. 7, percent torn1.7 and 2.1 , percent in LOCs average and in Eth iopia respectively. Moreover, Ethiopiarnwas also successful in reversing the incidence of malaria. In insuring environmentalrnsustainability goal (MOG goal 7), as opposed to what is expected, destruction of arearncovered by forest increased in LOCs in general and in Ethiopia in particular though, withrnregard to expansion of pure water and sanitation service, LOCs managed to increasernthe proportion of population with access to safe water and sanitation from 51 percentrnand 21 percent in 2000 to 59 percent and 38 percent in 2004 respectively; whilernEthiopia failed in achieving both targets. Regarding developing global partnership forrndevelopment (MOG goal 8) LOCs in general and Ethiopia in particular receivedrn$126,894 million (10.67 percent of commitment) and $9,639 million (10.02 percent ofrnthe commitment) from OAC member countries respectively.rnHence, if th e current achievement continues in the remaining years, LOCs co uldrnachieve only the targets of: reversing the spread of HIV/AOIS; halving the proportion ofrnpeople with out access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation. On the other hand,rnEthiopia could only achieve only targets of reducing infant mortality rate; reversing thernspread of HIV and incidence of malaria.
