The abjective of this. study was to investigate therneffectiveness of organizational communication taking placernbetween the school principals and the two groups ofrnsubordinates - the academic and administrative staftrnmembers.rnThe data was collected from 28 principals,rnadministrative s~affeornmembers, and 310 teachers selectedrnfr.om 12 senior secondary achools of Ethiopia by systematic:rnsampling method.rnTwo schoolS were picked by lottery (simplernrandom. sampling method) from each zone in the country.rntypes of uestionnairea Two were employed to collect thrnnecessary data from the principals and their subordinates.rnThe study revealed that principals do not have arnthorough understanding of the general principles ofrnorganizational communication and they have not appliedrnthem in their schools • . Because of this and other reasons,rnstaff member a seem to lack the courage and interest torntransmit the-ir suggestions, comments, etc. upwards.
