The purpose of this study was to investigate Students Disciplinary Problems and its Effect onrnthe Teaching Learning Process in Selected Primary Schools in Yeka Sub City. A descriptivernsurvey research design was used to achieve the purpose of the study. On top of this, thernresearch sample was composed of 120 students and 30 teachers of the three selected samplernschools in Yeka sub city. These samples were drawn from the total population using simplernrandom sampling techniques. Moreover, the data gathering tools for this research werernquestionnaire, interview and focus group discussion. Data collected using these instrumentsrnwere analyzed using descriptive statistics percentage and frequency. Besides, thematic analysisrnwas used to analyze qualitative data. Finally, the study revealed that shouting in the classroom,rndamaging the school property lack of respect to the school community, fighting among studentsrnand stealing other student’s property were the major types of disciplinary problems observed inrnthe schools. The findings of the study also revealed that lack of interest to learn, being addictedrnby drug, a gap in proper implementation of the rules and regulations, lack of follow uprnstudent’s parent their children daily activity, the increasing of illegal video and chat housesrnaround the schools were the major causes for the observed disciplinary problems of students inrnYeka sub city primary government schools. With regard to effects of students disciplinaryrnproblem the study relived that poor academic achievement of students, inability of teachers torncover the curriculum with its schedule, destruction of school facilities were the major effects ofrnstudents’ disciplinary problem. Therefore, it was recommended that school administrationrnneeds to establish effective communication channel with parents, involve pupils and teachers inrnthe establishment and enforcement of rules at classroom. Moreover, teachers need to be goodrnmodels to their students from the first day of the class.to train teachers on how to deal withrnstudent behavioral problems, especially in adolescence and cooperation between schoolrnadministrations and teachers to develop a school rules, school leaders need to organize variousrntraining program.
