The study examined the type, magnitude or extent and psychosocial impacts of bullying. Tornthis end, one hundred fifty three malesâ€™ and one hundred seventy eight femalesâ€™ students ofrngrades 9 and 10 from Hotie secondary school filled self-report questionnaire and interviewrnwas conducted with key informant individuals of the school on bullying. The present studyrnadopted systematic random sampling method to obtain the sample respondents. To analyzernthe data, simple descriptive statistics of frequency and percentage triangulated withrnqualitative data analysis was used. The findings of this study revealed that the magnitude ofrnbullying behavior in the school was wide, calling bad/unwanted nickname, spreading badrnrumors or defaming and insulting were the three most common types of bullying observed inrnthe school, students were largely victimized due to the lower economic standard of theirrnfamilies, bullying has a great negative impact on the life of victims and it is also a greatrneducational obstacle to students. On top of that, school performance, social and economicrnstatus of bullies and victims was low. Moreover, the study has disclosed that asrnpuberty/adolescence, peer pressure and family rearing problems are the three major factorsrnthat contribute to bullying behavior of Hotie secondary school students. This studyrnrecommended that, the school has to work closely with influential individuals, go-betweens,rncommunity based organizations like religious institutions and â€˜Iddirsâ€™ on the behavior ofrnstudents by organizing meetings and communication sessions. In a nutshell, it is sound forrnthe school to produce guidelines, bylaws and internal policies concerning bullying to bernimplemented and take corrective actions and inter in to force when necessary to keeping thernschool campus and its community secured from any kind of hazards of bullying
