The objective of this research is to compare and assess time management practice teachers in Addis ketema sub-city of two government and two private secondary schools. To achieve this purpose descriptive survey method used to find the real nature of time management practice. 80 Teachers,4 vice-principals, 4 principal, and 100 students were sources of data in this study. Used quota sampling. It was conducted in schoolsâ€™ teachersâ€™ time management to find a viable solution for the prevailing inefficient and ineffective time management practices. To this end, the researcher has gathered data from primary sources using questionnaire, interview, and personal observations; and referred secondary sources including 2010E.C national exam student achievement and various documents related time management. The quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics while the information obtained through document review and interviews qualitatively described to supplement the quantitative data SPSS software was applied to present and analyze the data gathered from respondents. The major findings of the study indicate that the time management ineffective and private schools relatively better time management performance under the strong controls of school principal but from the standards in both cases the problem is visible but in government schools principals controlling system is weak teachers time management practice is not 185 respondents given proper attention by the teachers and school leaders. Based on the findings the researcher recommended the time management practice should be improved utilizing systematic ways of handling time and providing Addis Ketema sub-city school principal proper attention and follow up for the unit
