The purpose of this study was to assess the factors affecting teachers‟ commitment in implementing School Improvement Programs (SIP) in secondary schools of Hadiya Zone. To serve this purpose, a cross-sectional descriptive survey research design along with mixed method was employed. The study was conducted in nine secondary schools of the four samples Wareda. Nine schools were included through using simple random sampling. From these sample schools, three supervisors and nine parent, student and teacher association (PSTA) members were selected by using purposive sampling, while 180 teachers and 36 school leaders were selected by using simple random sampling. Questionnaires were used as main tool of data collection. Structured-interview was used to substantiate the data gathered through questionnaires. Document analysis is also a part of this study. Using SPSS version 20, quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and independent sample t-test while content analysis approach was used to analyses qualitative data. Findings of the study revealed that the teachers‟ commitment in implementing SIP was low in the study areas. Based on the findings, it is recommended that, REB, WEO & ZED SIP expert, SIC committee in school levels advisable to work with teachers in SIP planning, implementation and evaluation, provide training for teachers‟, better to give financial & non-financial those who performed well; WEO desirable to allocate adequate budget and schools had better design income generating mechanism to fulfill school facilities,. Also School required creating conducive environment for teaching learning, and develop good relationship among the school community, and improved the level of teacher efficacy and principal performance through training.rnKey words;-Teacher‟s commitment; School Improvement Programs; SIP Domains;- Teaching-Learning, School Environment, Leading &Management and Community Involvement.
