The main objective of the study to aggravate students drop out problem among the Secondary school students in Horo GuduruWollega Zone Oromia Regional state. The study adopted Snow ball sampling techniques to sample its respondents. The study used descriptive and exploratory research design. A sample comprising of head teachers, teachers, parents, dropout students and woreda education officers were used to investigate factors aggravate students’ dropout resolution mechanism in their respective schools. The research instruments included a questionnaire, document analysis, interview and focus group discussion which were administered to the respondent. The data collected was subjected to qualitative and quantitative analysis. They were percentage and Frequency distribution tables and percentages were used to present data. The findings showed that school factors that aggravate students dropout were school management style, corporal punishment, family income level, parents education level, distance from school, student-teacher relationship, lack of parents addiction and the significance difference between boys and girls dropout student. If they were not controlled in a practical way, it can prevent school from reaching goals and objectives and will have negative impact on school. Causes dropout among students included that students from uneducated parents were more likely to dropout from schools than students from educated parents. Girl students dropped out more than boy students. One of the approaches for reducing school dropout every school was mandated to organize general parent awareness, schools should offer effective remedial programs for students who lag behind in a bid to improve their learning capacity and keep them on track, Not only that but also the study suggests measures to combat dropout in the district where the research was under taken. In conclusion, despite the government efforts through SEDP to improve the quality of education with emphasis to equal access for boys and girls, still the dropout is an alarming issue where by the girl students dropped out more than boy students. The parents should be sensitized on the importance of education so as to understand their role and involvement in their children education affecting their children education
