This study was aimed at assessing ̳Causes of teachers’ turnover and its influence on quality ofrneducation in government secondary schools of yeka sub city administration and seeks thernpossible solutions for problems identified.rnTo conduct this research descriptive survey research method was employed to explore and describern ̳teachers‘ turnover and its influence on quality of education in government secondary schools inrnYeka sub city‘. The data for the study was collected from 189 currently teaching teachers, 20 ex-rnteachers and 6 school principals in Yeka sub city government secondary schools.rnThe respondents were included in the study by employing random sampling to select currentlyrnteaching teachers, snowball sampling to select ex-teachers and purposive sampling technique tornselect school principals.rnQuestionnaire was used to gather information on causes of teachers‘ turnover and its influence onrnquality of education. Quantitative and qualitative techniques were used to analyze the data. Thernresults of the data analysis showed that the push factors like inadequate salary of teachers, low socialrnstatus of teaching, lack of motivation and encouragements of teachers and low career advancementrnof teaching profession are the major push factors that irritate teachers bringing turnover of teachersrnin government secondary schools .In addition to this, the pull factors (factors outside of the school)rnlike high salary in other organizations, high compensation package in other organizations, betterrnmotivations and encouragement in other organizations and more benefits in the organizations arernamong the causes of teachers‘ turnover by attracting teachers to a new job. In view of this, importantrnrecommendations were made to mitigate the problems
