The purpose of this study is to investigate the main source and management of conflictrnbetween school principals and teachers in some selected private secondary school of Gullelernsub city. In this regard, a descriptive survey design was used as methods of research with thernassumption that this design would enable the researcher describe the current state of thernproblem. The researcher used both primary and secondary sources of data. The Primaryrnsources were teachers and principals working in the private secondary schools. Secondaryrndata were collected from school reports, minutes; etc. A simple random sampling was takenrnto identify the respondent in each school after obtaining their lists. To get primary data,rnquestionnaire was designed for teachers and school principals. The quantitative datarnanalysis, like frequency distribution and percentage was used to analyze the data. One wayrnANOVA analysis was also used. The research results indicated that there were three types ofrnconflicts observed in the surveyed private secondary schools. These are communicational,rnstructural, and behavioral aspects. The study also identified the major causes of conflict asrnlack of proper communication to announce the relevant information, insufficient quantity ofrnteaching aids, ambiguity in the announcement issued by school principal office, lack ofrnproper communication with the principal, lack of provision of relevant information to schoolrnteachers by school principals and etc.As part of the solution, the private secondary school inrnthe sub city manages conflict by bringing issues to the table and makes discussion, implementrnadministrative measures following the rules and regulations of the school, give advice to thernteachers to improve their weakness, develop respect and give ear to one another and finallyrnmaking discussion by participating stake holders. As a recommendation, the school principalrnshould create an opportunity for school teacher to develop their career and feel the brightrnfuture and serve their current duty effectively.
