Participation Of Parent Teacher Students Association In The Management Of Secondary Schools In Lalo Kile Woreda Kellem Wollega Zone Of Oromia Regional State
The main purpose of this study was to assess the participation of Parent TeacherrnStudents Association in the management of secondary schools in Lalo KilernWoreda and thereby to identify factors that hamper the active involvement ofrnPTSA members in the management of schools so as to provide measures to berntaken to the identified problems. The primary sources of data were 51taechers,28rnPTSA members, 8Principals and vice principalsrnand 1 secondary schoolrnsupervisor. The PTSA members, Principals and vice principals and Supervisorrnwere selected by availability while teachers were selected by using stratifiedrnsampling technique. QuestionnairesInterview and document analysis were thernmain data gathering instruments. The quantitative data were analyzed by usingrnfrequency, mean, standard deviation and Percentage. These members did notrnhave the awareness about the roles and responsibilities in the respective area.rnBased on these findings, the researcher recommends that training should be givenrnto PTSA members with respect to community participation. Conducting meetingsrnat the right time and place and creating conducive participatory environmentrnwere some of the major recommendations that were believed by the researcher tornbring improve in the management of the schools
