Back ground:- Patient safety incident is an event that could have resulted or did result inrnunnecessary harm to a patient, and it is considered one of the top 10 causes of death worldwide.rnEmergency departments and intensive care units of hospitals are characterized by their highrnrisk of patient safety incidents. Studies showed that six to eight point five percent of patientsrnvisiting emergency units experienced safety incidents. Intensive care units have also been foundrnto have the highest estimate of adverse events when compared to other units of hospitals.rnHowever, around 80-90% go unreported, and barriers to reporting do vary. This study aimedrnto assess incidence reporting behavior and associated factors among health professionalsrnworking in acute care units of federal hospitals in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 2020 rnMethods:- An institution –based cross-sectional study design was applied. Data were collectedrnfrom randomly selected participants using self-administered questionnaire. The data werernanalyzed using SPSS version 26 analytical software. Variables with P-value less or equal torn0.25 by bivariate logistic analysis were used for multivariate logistic analysis.
