Background: Foreign body aspiration (FBA) is one of the main causes of accidental death in childhoodrnand foreign bodies (FBs) in the aerodigestive tract are important causes of morbidity and mortality andrnpose diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. The shortages of community awareness toward, the FBArnaggravate the problems. There are no published study results on this topic; so this study may help as arnbaseline to find the community awareness toward the management of foreign body aspiration.rnObjective: Assessed the knowledge, attitude and practice of community living in Addis Alem Town ofrnEjere Wereda in West Shewa Zone toward the management (first aid) of FBA 2014/2015rnMethods: - Community based cross sectional study was used from January 01 to 30/2015. The datarnobtained was edited manually, entered into the computer and analyzed using the Statistical Package forrnthe Social Sciences (SPSS) version 16.00. Frequencies were generated and Bivariate logistic regressionrnanalysis was used to test associations between categorical variables.rnResult:- The result were summarized and presented by tables, charts and graphs. Finally based on thernstudy findings Conclusions and recommendations was forwarded to the concerned body.rnDiscussion/Implication: - Several insights were gained from this cross sectional study.
