The thesis presents analysis of the environmental impact of Augusta quarry on landrnstability, adjacent surface water and local resident. In addition potential rehabilitation ofrnthe abandoned quarry is discussed. The study area is located in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia),rnthe most important production center of crushed aggregate.rnAn intensive field survey was made in order to characterize the rock mass of the quarryrnslope stability. This was accomplished by classification of the area through visualrninterpretation. Eight slope section sites were selected and discontinuity of the rock massrnwas measured with Burton compass.rnIn addition, questioners were prepared both close and open ended type to deal the impactrnof quarry on resident; more over water samples were taken upstream of the quarry, withrnin the quarry and down stream of the quarry to analyses the impact and its beneficial usernfor the rehabilitation of the quarry.rnThe land stability analysis result indicates the slope is unstable. The questioner surveyrnanalyzed through frequency percentage and shows the impact becomes maximum duringrnis blasting operation.rnThe turbidity within the quarry indicates lower than the upstream of the quarry, this isrnbecause currently blasting operation is inactive since one year, resulting the total solidrnand total dissolved solid higher than the upstream surface water. The quality of the waterrnfor the beneficial use of rehabilitation is analyzed based on its sodium percentage andrnsodium absorption ratio. The value of sodium absorption ratio is found to be low.rnThrough the value of sodium percentage is in doubtful range.rnFinally potential rehabilitation techniques discussed based on the result obtained fromrnland stability analysis, field survey and literatures

Subsurface Intelligence & Critical Mineral Exploration

Modern Geology projects now focus on Machine Learning in Mineral Targeting, Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) Geologic Modeling, and Critical Mineral Systems (Lithium, REEs). If your research involves Hydrogeological Connectivity, Seismic Inversion, or Geotechnical Site Characterization, ensure your analysis follows the JORC or NI 43-101 reporting standards and utilizes robust 3D Subsurface Visualization and Geochemical Fingerprinting frameworks.
