Land certification is the current issue and the government implemented vastly to ensurernlandholders tenure security at national level. However, there is little knowledge about therncontribution of land certification for SLM (Sustainable Land Management), credit access and thernperception of farmers about the security of land rights in the study area. Therefore, the initiationrnof this study was evaluate perception about contribution of land certification among landholders,rnanalyze the contribution of land certification on sustainable land management practices andrninvestigates effectiveness of land certification for access to credit and credit use for appropriaternLMP. Primary data for the study were collected through household questionnaires, observation,rnfocus group discussions and key informant interviews. Data were both quantitative andrnqualitative and analyzed by descriptive statistics such as tables, percentages, chi-square, andrnthematic. The result has shown that LC (Land Certification) had a strong association with landrnmanagement practices and credit access. Land certification played a significant role to involvernthemselves in land management activities than before. However, the research found out mostrnfarmers was carrying out one season of land management. The practice of land management hasrnbeen increased due to land certification but, the quality of land management practices has notrnconsidered the sustainability issue. LIFT (Land Investment for Transformation) project playedrngreater in supporting and monitoring to farmers to apply environmental sustainable agriculturalrninput and those farmers support by the project were more aware about environmental sustainablernand they use credit effectively. Also, this research found that farmers were taking credit for offfarm activities (fattening. Milk production and poultry production. Due to this, they gave lessrnpriority to investing in the land like agricultural input purchased, irrigation activity as well asrnland management practices. This research recommended that the woreda environmental officernshould support and monitor the activity of SLM practices done by farmers.
