This study was designed to assess perception of tourists toward gastronomy practice inrnselected cultural restaurants of Addis Ababa. The target population of this study was tourists.rnIn order to conduct this study, mixed research approach applied. Purposive samplingrntechniques were used to determine sample size. Moreover, the tourist questionnaire surveyrnand interview were used as a data collection instrument, whereas both primary andrnsecondary sources of data were used to collect relevant data. In-depth interview for interviewrn10 restaurants workers from five cultural restaurants and 136 tourists for questionnairernsurvey were selected. Quantitative-led mixed methods of data analysis were used. The finalrnresult of this research was analyzed, interpreted and discussed by using descriptive statisticsrn(frequency, mean, and standard deviation) and inferential statistics the finding of thernresearch revealed that the perceptions of tourists towards gastronomy practices are high.rnThe study identified that the practice of gastronomy in the study area was accounted for morernthan 3.5 mean in all indicators. The benefit of gastronomy it scored above 3.5 Mean.rnTherefore, this shows that the benefit of gastronomy in the study to be high. This result alsornrevealed that the perception of tourists towards the barriers to use gastronomic practice inrnthe study area. Above all, there is a need to know all the concerned body with their relevantrnroles. Based on the findings of the study, the researcher recommended that awarenessrncreation, role and responsibly in the study area
