Tourism product development is part of aims to diversify and increase the benefits of tourismrngovernment and local communities in addition to satisfying and meeting the needs of tourists.rnThe current study is about assessing the potentials and limitations of tourism productrndevelopment evidence from Choke Mountains and its environment. Qualitative researchrnapproach has been adopted in the study. Purposive sampling techniques were employed tornselect key informants. 5 participants were interviewed, and one focus group was held. Thernresearcher conducted face to face interview by using both structured and semi structuredrninterview questions. With respect to data sources, both primary and secondary data sourcesrnwere utilized. Interview, focus group discussion and field observation were main datarngathering instruments used to collect data for this study. As far as data analysis is concerned,rnstructured narrative analysis techniques were applied. With respect to the result researcherrnfound that Choke Mountain is rich in natural tourism potential. This study proved that thernpotentials for tourism product development is need the involvement of all respectivernstockholders. The other finding of this study indicts that overgrazing, deforestation, illegalrncommunity settlement, unlimited use of lands for farming purpose and lack of educatedrnhuman resource are the major challenges that bottlenecked for practices of tourism productrndevelopment in the area. The current study is expected to benefit local communities, local &rnregional government and tourism service providers finally it provides a contribution in thernfield of research and researcher can use this work as reference.
