To attain the aforementionedrnobjective, cross-sectional survey design was employed. The, primary data was collected fromrn210 randomly selected sample households by proportionally allocating to both towns usingrnsurvey questionnaire. In addition, key informant interview and observation were employed torngenerate qualitative data from the selected primary sources. Descriptive analysis was used tornanalyze the extent of multidimensional poverty and binary logistic regression was employed tornlook into determinants of household multidimensional poverty. Alkire-Foster (AF method) wasrnused to analyze the multidimensional poverty by using three dimensions and eleven indicators. Accordingly, incidence, intensity, multidimensional poverty index (MPI), raw headcount ratio, rncensored headcount ratio and contribution of each poverty indicators to the poor people wererncomputed. The result revealed that the extent of overall multidimensional poor was 31.4% of thernsample households’ with the intensity and MPI of 46.4% and 15% respectively. From thernselected indicators, year of schooling (32.5%), and illness/ disability and morbidity/ (23.9%)rnwere the highest contributors to the overall poverty incidence in the towns. The result of Binaryrnlogistic regression model revealed that family size, addiction, health problem, expenditure onrnhealth and person per room (crowdedness) were statistically significant determinants for thernhousehold multidimensional poverty.
