Nowadays, the main negative impact of road transportation systems is the loss of property, rninjuries, and deaths in road traffic accidents. Ethiopia hosted an average of 13 fatalities and 37rnpeople for disability per day, from this Addis Ababa shares 10 % of fatality and 26 % ofrndisability. In Addis Ababa city 70 percent of pedestrian deaths occurred when walking forrncrossing a road. There is a strong relation between road traffic accidents and pedestrianrnaccumulators, especially, bus stops. The primary objective of this study was to assess road trafficrnaccidents to identify black spots and hazardous bus stops in Yeka Sub-city administration (whichrnis the second leading sub-city by road traffic accident after 2017). The data collection techniquesrnof this study were questionnaires, interviews, and field observation. The primary data collectedrnfrom questionnaires distributed to 60 city bus drivers (by using a simple random samplingrntechnique) and 5 key informants. In addition to this Global Positing System (GPS) were used torncollect x,y coordinates of bus stops and uncollected fatal accidents in 2019; whereas thernsecondary data were collected from Yeka sub-city police commission (non-spatial data) andrnAddis Ababa transport program management office (the spatial data). The applications of GISrnsuch as interpolation and kernel density functions, buffering were used to produce a continuousrnsurface, magnitude per unit area proximity respectively. The analysis was done using Arc GISrn10.3 and 10.5 software and Microsoft excel. 97% of all traffic accidents caused by male drivers, rnand Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays which were more frequent traffic accident registeredrndays. Inapt use of steering and driving closely were the primary causes of a road traffic accidentrnand 52 percent of fatal accidents were caused by failure to give pedestrian priority. FerencayrnKela, Megenagna, Wesen Grocery, Aboare, Kara Akababi, Yeka Michael, and Gurd Shola werernidentified hotspot areas. Kokebe Tsibah, Lamberet Terminal, Ayat-Tafo entrance; CMC St.rnMichael, Yeka Sub-city Administration Roundabout, and Ferencay Biret Dildiy werernhazardous/unsafe bus stops. The researcher recommended that special inspection and priorityrnshould be given for those identified black spots sites and hazardous bus stops. Trafficrnmanagement agency and other concerned bodies should construct overpasses or bridge, fence, rnand relocation activities over those hazardous/unsafe bus stops.rnKey Words: Road Traffic Accident, Fatal Crash, Black Spots/Hotspot, Buffer, Kernel Density
