The concept of intrinsic work motivation and employee engagement is a popular term forrntoday’s business and management research. Moreover, intrinsic motivational factors are oftenrnconsidered a useful tool for employee engagement. The purpose of this study is to examine therneffects of intrinsic motivational factors on employee engagement in Commercial Bank ofrnEthiopia. A sample of 364 respondents was drawn from the employees of the Commercial Bankrnof Ethiopia by using survey software. A structured questionnaire was distributed to the selectedrnrespondents. The response rate from the intended sample was 82 percent. Explanatory method isrnused to conduct the research. Regressional analysis was run using SPSS Version 20.0.rnQuantitative data was used to analyze the data which was collected for the study. The finding ofrnthis study shows that all the factors of intrinsic motivation; namely, Interesting work, Workrnachievement, Job appreciation and Job autonomy have a positive and significant relationship onrnEmployee engagement. These findings are beneficial for Commercial Bank of Ethiopia to engagerntheir employees. Finally, the researcher suggests that the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia focus onrnintrinsic motivational factors to motivate and engage employees better and to achieve the desirernobjectives.
