This paper examines whether the Ethiopian military courts in adjudicating the members ofrnarmed forces comply with fair trial standards enshrined in the various Human Rightsrninstruments. The author explores the normative standards of the right to a fair trial both in thernnational and international Human rights laws. After a discussion and analysis of the contentsrnof laws applicable to the Ethiopian military courts and their practices, the paper concludesrnwith a summary and suggestions for making the courts fairer.
