Unwanted pregnancy which may lead to unsafe abortion is common among young adolescentrnwomen. Unwanted pregnancy can occur due to missed pills, forced sex, method failures, andrncondom breakage. To prevent such problem, Emergency Contraceptives are the only method thatrncan be used ajier unprotected sex. Therefore, this cross-sectional study aimed to examine thernlevel of knowledge, al/iludes, and Practice of emergency contraceptive pills among 330 youngrnfemale students of Wolaila Sodo University, and 10 determine factors associated with thernknowledge and acceptance of emergency contraceptive pill. A seif-administered questionnairernwas used as an instrument for data collection and for Statistical analyses percentage, mean,rnstandard deviation, bivariate and Binwy logistic regression was used. The findings of the studyrnrevealed, the sample group comprised 62.4% of the students aged 17-20 and 37.6% agedrnbetween21-25; 45.2% of the respondents had ever heard about Emergency Contraceptive; 28.5rn% had good knowledge of EC, and 67.5% hadfavorable attilude toward EC. In the binwyrnlogistic analysis, some variables have become significant predictors of awareness of ECrnincluding: discussion of reproductive issues with mother and jhend, induced abortion, chewingrn'Khat', taking alcohol and mother 's education level. Finally, there is gap between knowledgernand al/itude among respondents so the study call for concerned bodies to take some importantrnmeasures such as; provision of continuous sex education, guidance and counseling servicesrnespecially during the first year and increasing easy accessibility of the Emergency Contraceptivernand other preventive methods to the users.
