A systematic random sampling metlOd wasrndesigned and used for purposes of data collection in the assUl1ption of homogeneity in tilernpopulation.rnThe estimated empmcal model results showed til at individual and/or householdrnspecific variables such as sex of the patient, seveIity of illness, monlhly income of tilernhousehold and household size' and the choice specific vaIiable, dislance 10 reach tile nearestrnhealth facility, were found to have a significant effect on wheOler or not treatment wasrnsought, but not on tile choice of provider of healtll care services.rnOn the other hand, age of Ole patient, sex of the household head and education levelrnof tile patient fi'om tile individual and/or household specific variables and quality valiables,rnmedical cost of treatment per visit and waiting time for treatment from the choice specificrncategory were found to have their own strong influence on the choicc of providers of heal tilrncare services witll wlexpected result that waiting time for treatment played in the choice ofrnpublic facilities and the medical cost of treatment per visit played in the choice of pIivaternfacilities which warrant us to perform furt1ler research in tltis area. TIle policy implication ofrnsuch findings is discussed.
