Antenatal care is potentially one of the most effective healthrnintervention for preventing maternal morbidity and mortalityrnparticularly in places where the general health status of women is poor;rnbut its importance remained under utilized in Ethiopia.rnA community based cross-sectional study was conducted fromrnFebruary 1-30, 2008 in Maichew Town, Tigray Regional state, tornassess factors affecting utilization of antenatal care services amongrnwomen during their third trimester of pregnancy and within 12 monthsrnpost delivery preceding the survey. Interviewer administered structuredrnquestionnaire was used for data collection. Data were collected fromrnthree Kebeles with access to ANC services and a total of 419 studyrnsubjects were included in the study.
