The management process can be defined as the process ofrnplanning, organizing, staffing and controlling. Thernperformance of a business can be measured on how well thesernfunctions are being carried out . The main thing to be made isrnthat better quality information which helps management in thernprocess of managing a business. Accounting information, inrnthis regard , plays a great role in:rn1) Planning , because reporting information on past periodsrnhelps the user to make predictions about future events.rn2) Controlling, because budgets and standards are set, andrnperformances are measured against these budgets andrnstandards.rn3) Decision making, because the reporting of possiblernoutcomes based on alternative input allows the decisionrnmakers to select the best alternatives .rnThe accounting function also acts as an over all controlrndevice for external constituents such as external auditors ,rnInland Revenue Administration and Other Government bodies .rnThe result of the study reveals that accounting system ofrnA.A . R. H. currently used is not capable of supporting thernmanagement in relation to investment and economic policy.rnTherefore , this thesis aims to furnish in prototyperncomputer based accounting information to different level ofrnmanagers and to interested external users.rnThe proposed computer-based accounting system for thernaccounting information system of A.A.R.H. emanates from thernfact that:rna) The existing semi-automated accounting system ofrnA.A.R.H. has not been presented in a suitable form tornhelp management.rnb) The traditional batch oriented processing of accountingrncreates a delay to provide timely information.rnThus, using the database approach attempts have been madernto design prototype accounting information system to bernsuitable for management in a timely fashion.rnThe thesis holds six chapters, the Introduction part,rnAccounting Concept , the Existing Accounting System ofrnA.A.R.H. , the Proposed Accounting System, System Operationrnand Implementation Plan and lastly Conclusion andrnRecommendations.
