Etvs Framing Of Agricultural Transformation The Case Of Weraynna Tigrigna Program

The aim of this thesis was to examine the framing of agricultural transformation in ETV'srnTigrigna program known as werrayna. To this end, this study employed a qualitativernmethod. The data was collected from the documented programs and in-depth interviewsrnwere conducted with the staff that produced the program. The study was informed byrnframing theory, and frame analysis was used as a strategy. On the basis of Entman'srnframing conceptualization, textual message, visual effects and metaphors were examinedrnand analyzed.rnThe finding of the study revealed that the weraynna program defined the problem as thernpersistent practice of traditional fanning method; it attributed the problem to illiteracy,rnpoor administration and poverty. The progran1 presented irrigation and other simplernfarming methods as a mechanism to transforming the agriculture. Moreover, thernweraynna program suggested educating the farmers to conserve natural resources,rnimprove the fertility of the land, and heed the advice of agricultural professionals so asrnalleviate poverty.
