Every citizen has the right to enjoy in political participation, since it is accepted and endorsedrnby, UDHR, ICCPR, as fundamental rights of all human being found in the universe served as anrninstrument to citizens that assure their political exercise and give a space to the people who arerngoing to be their best representative. The FDRE government of Ethiopia is a part of thisrnuniversal agreement. In accordance of this the FDER constitution stated and declared everyrnEthiopian nations and Nationality, without any discrimination to vote and to be elected atrnperiodic elections to any office at any levels government through the election which conductedrnunder universal and equal suffrage. Ethiopia is a part of the glorious basic democratic rightrnstipulated under FDRE constitution that allowed the people to participate on their mutualrnagenda without any distinction and discriminating. However, Gambella People‟s NationalrnRegional State shows serious problems in relation to political participation of „Non-indigenous‟rnethnic peoples are not able to enjoy their political exercise and because of in efficientrnrepresentation. Therefore, the ultimate objective of this research is to assess and to evaluate thernpolitical participation of „Non-indigenous‟ ethnic people‟s in Gambella Region: particularlyrnGambella city, Abobo,Godere,Lare and Itang special Woredas are the selected study areas.rnTherefore, this research aims to identifying problems and shows relevant solution in regardingrnto the right to have fair representation, to elect and to be elected, the right of self-administration,rnthe legal frame work for political representation and the constitutional right of „Non-indigenous‟rnethic group in the Government institutions of Gambella city, Abobo,Godere,Lare and Itnagrnspecial Woredas. In finding out reliable data, the researcher used qualitative research methodrnwith in-depth interview, field observation and Key informant interview as way of data collectingrnmethod with utilizing different written document.rnKey words: Indigenous, Non- indigenous people of the rights for political participation.
