Information system solutions in logistics management have often been approached fromrnvarious dimensions with a focus on the overall effect on Reliability, Responsiveness, andrnFlexibility. Reliability and responsiveness in the logistics industry through variousrnmodalities such as performance of Information system solutions has seen improvementsrnin logistics management systems. However, many sectors of the logistics industry still runrnon traditional or manual systems and this could be attributed to their ineffective andrninefficient performance. There exists a research gap in this area of the role ofrnInformation system on the logistics management performance in Ethiopian Shipping andrnLogistics Services Enterprise. The study employed a descriptive and explanatoryrnresearch design. The population comprised of 94 employees in Ethiopian Shipping andrnLogistics Services Enterprise. The stratified sampling techniques were applied after thernpopulation divided into the appropriate strata and a proportionate sampling was takenrnfrom each stratum to represent all the strata .76 employees were found to appropriatelyrnmatch the population size of 94 and selected for this study from the Inventory, Transport,rnWarehouse and Procurement sections including Information and CommunicationrnTechnology and other departments. Factor analysis was used to reduce the variablerndimension and descriptive statistics were used to identify the challenges of hindering thernadoption of Information systems on logistics management performance. Correlation andrnRegression analysis approaches were used to investigate the relationships between thernvariables and the extent to which the independent variables explained logisticsrnmanagement performance. The finding shows that lack of education and training was thernmajor Information system adoption challenges and to alleviate the challenge a carefulrnassessment of education and training needs should minimize this problem. ThereforernEthiopian Shipping and Logistics Services Enterprise need to improve Informationrnsystem adoption and Information system capability to improve on the logisticsrnmanagement performances especially in the areas of inventory, Transport, warehouse,rnand procurement activities.
