In most developing countries like Ethiopia the practices of warehouse management are optimallyrnunderutilized and non-organized . There is a strong agreement on the need of researching therngaps and major challenges of warehouse management practices and recommend feasiblernsolutions to the gaps.rnUndeniablernwarehouse management is an essential element of any supplyrnchain management effectiveness. Thus, this study has been carried-out to assess the practice ofrnwarehousing management of spare parts chain management of the Ethiopian national defensernmain logistics department at Adama city. A mixed method of research design has been used tornrealize the objective just mentioned. Both primary and secondary sources were used. In today'srnglobal business environment, computer systems are involved in business process providingrnquality products and efficient services are vital to staying competitive. Warehouse must eliminaterninefficiencies, monitor productivity, and continually improve their operational performance inrnorder to keep pace. The sole purpose of conducting this research is to improve the warehousernmanagement activities used in our present time, warehouse management data base technologicalrndevelopment industry and the techniques that could improve the warehouse management in thernorganization. This research paper has been organized in to five chapters. The first chapter dealsrnwith Introduction which includes, background of the study, statement of the problem, basicrnresearch questions, objectives of the study, significance of the study, scope of the study,rnlimitation of the study, organization of the study, and definition of terms. The second chapterrncontained related literature review which focused on theoretical framework, warehousernmanagement conceptual issue, types of warehouses, purpose /functions of warehouse andrncharacteristics of ideal warehouse. The third chapter contained research methodology with studyrnarea descriptions, study design, data collection methods and instruments, study populationrnsample size and sampling technique, pilot test, method of data analysis, ethical consideration,rnvalidity and reliability. Chapter four also included data analysis, interpretation and discussion.rnThe last chapter has contained summary, conclusion and recommendation the study. This studyrnhas been assessed based on heir relevancy priority
