The objective of this research is to critically evaluate thernpurchasing practice at AAUCC It was conducted in a bid to findrnviable solution for the prevailing inefficient and delayedrnpurchasing practices. To this end, the researcher have gatheredrndata from primary sources using questionnaire, interview andrnpersonal observations; and referred secondary sources includingrnpurchasing manuals and various documents related tornpurchasing in AAUCC SPSS soft ware was applied to preset andrn'.:;:::=:=.. ,rnanalyze the data gathered from 40 respondents. The majorrnfindings of the study indicate that the purchasing function isrninefficient and is not given proper attention by the management.rnBased on the findings the researcher recommended thernpurchasing function should be improved utilizing systematicrnways of handling purchases and providing managerial properrnattention and follow up for the unit.
