Back ground: In individuals infected with human immunodeficiency virus, hematologicalrnabnormalities are associated with increased risk of disease progression and death. The use ofrnantiretroviral drugs could positively or negatively affect these disorders. However, little isrnknown about its impact on hematological and immunological parameters in patients who arerntaking antiretroviral drugs in Ethiopia.rnObjective: The study was undertaken to assess hematological profiles among HIV positive adultsrntaking highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) at Black Lion Specialized Hospital, AddisrnAbaba, Ethiopia, 2016.rnMethods: A cross-sectional study was conducted from August to October, 2016 on 255 HIVrninfected adults who have been taking HAART for more than six months in the study hospital.rnSubjects whose age were greater than or equal to 20 years were enrolled in the study and had arnmean ± SD age of 40.6 ± 9.4 years. Data was collected by using structured questionnaire thatrnincluded variables related to socio-demographic characteristics and clinical conditions of thernstudy individuals. Measurements of complete blood cell count and CD4 + T cell counts werernmade using Sysmex XT 2000i hematology analyzer and BD FACScount CD4 analyzer,rnrespectively. P
