Background: With urbanization and rapidly increasing number of automobiles in most of therntowns and cities, there is an increase in air pollution. Numerous epidemiological studies haverndocumented decrements in pulmonary function and various health problems associated withrnlong term air pollution exposure.rnObjectives: The objective of the present study was to assess the effect of petroleum fumes onrnlung functions and respiratory symptoms in petrol station workers in Addis Ababa.rnMethod: The investigation involved 170 subjects of which 120 were from petroleum stationrnand 50 were non- exposed control groups. The exposed subjects were selected in patrolrnstations from four randomly selected sub cities of Addis Ababa and were willing to participaternin the study.
