Background: Reference intervals are an important tool to identify abnormal laboratoryrntest results. Hematology reference values are useful to interpret hematology results andrnmake clinical decisions, but these values have not been established for geriatrics in Asellarntown.rnObjective: To establish reference intervals for common hematology test parameters fromrnapparently healthy geriatrics in Asella town, southeast Ethiopia from January to Aprilrn2020.rnMethods: A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted from January tornApril 2020. Interviewer administered questionnaire was used to collect data of sociodemographyrnand other characteristics from 342 eligible geriatrics. Weight, height, bloodrnpressure, MUAC and temperature were measured and 8 milliliter blood sample wasrncollected. Screening tests like HIV, HBsAg, HCV, syphilis, concentration method andrnwet mount of stool examination and urinalysis were performed. Hematological parameterrnwas measured by Sysmex kx-21 hematology Analyzer. The data were analyzed by SPSSrnversion 21. The non-parametric independent Mann–Whitney U test were used to comparernthe parameters between two gender groups.rnResult: The reference intervals of red blood cell, white blood cell, platelet count, rnhemoglobin (HGB), and hematocrit (HCT) in male Geriatrics were 3.8–5.85 × 10rn/L,rn3.1–9.66 × 10rn9rn/L, 115.8–353 × 10rn9rn/L, 12.4-17.76g/dL and 35.06-50.2%.The respectivernvalues for females were 3.94-5.48×10rn12rn/L, 3.13-8.4× 10rn9rn/L, 137.5-406× 10rn/L, 12.516.4g/dL,rnand 36.09-48.2%.By comparing the two genders by non parametric Mann–rnWhitney U test, most of the hematological parameters showed significant differencesrnamong two genders (p-value
