Background: Hepatitis B and C viruses (HBV & HCV) are viruses causing viral hepatitis. Itsrninfections are still major public health problems around the globe. Police personnel are high-riskrnpeople for parenteral and sexually transmitted diseases such as hepatitis B virus and hepatitis Crnvirus. Therefore a dual infection of these viruses can occur and even persists in the same patient.rnData regarding magnitude of HBV and HCV among police officers in Ethiopia is limited. rnObjective: The objective of this study was to determine magnitude and risk factor of HBV andrnHCV among Police personnel at Addis Ababa Police Commission residence camp. rnMethods: Institutional based cross-sectional survey was conducted from March - July 2021 onrnAddis Ababa Police commission camp personnel’s. By using simple random sampling methodrnten police camps selected and then calculated sample size was distribute to each camp byrnpopulation proportion to size applying proportional allocation formula and collect basicrndemographic and other data for risk factor analysis. Serum samples from each volunteeringrnpersonnel’s was screened for the presence of HBsAg and anti-HCVAbrn by using qualitative rapidrnand ELISA test kits.
