Background: Timely initiation of breastfeeding is a recommended practice by the WorldrnHealth Organization which says†initiate breastfeeding within one hour of delivery,rnthough it is not a usual practice in Ethiopia. Untimely initiation of breastfeeding hasrnnegative effect on child health, survival, growth and development. Furthermore, timelyrninitiation of breastfeeding has many advantages for the mother and the child.rnObjective: To assess timely initiation of breastfeeding and its determinant factorsrnamong mothers who have child less than 12 months of age in Tiyo woreda, Arsi Zone,rnOromia region Ethiopia.rnMethodology: A community based cross sectional study design was employed.
