INTRODUCTION: Poor personal hygiene creates a serious public health threat to schoolrnchildren. Due to poor personal hygiene practices, the increasing burden of communicablerndiseases among school children remains a concern on the public health agenda in developingrncountries.rnOBJECTIVE: To assess the factors associated with personal hygiene practice among schoolrnchildren in Boda primary school around Ginci twon ,west Shoa, Oromia, Ethiopia, 2016.rnMETHODS: A school based cross-sectional study design supported by qualitative approachrnwas conducted among school children in Boda primary school children from February tornMarch 2016 among 354 school children through stratified sampling method to select thernstudy subject. Data was collected using structured and pre-tested questionnaire face to facerninterview. Data entry, cleaning, editing and analysis were done using Epi info version 3.5 andrnSPSS statistical software version 21.0. To identify independent variables which hadrnstatistically significant association, bivariate and multivariate analysis using logisticrnregression was employed.rnFor qualitative method: Data was collectedrnby principal investigator using in depthrninterview among school teacher and school director (selected by purposive sampling method)rnand data was analysed using thematic analysis.rnRESULTS:rnAbout 59 % school children had good knowledge about personal hygiene andrnabout 54.2% had poor personal hygiene practice.
