Background: : Nurses have been trained to provide patient care and improve their patient’srnquality of life, but their own needs and their own quality of work life has been largely ignored.rnThere is also less evidence in Ethiopia which explain the quality of work life of nurses.rnObjective: The objective of this study was to assess quality of work life and associated factorsrnamong nurses working in public Hospitals of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.rnMethodology: Institutional based cross-sectional study design was conducted on 382 nurses.rnParticipants were selected by using systematic random sampling technique. Data was collectedrnusing self-administered structured and pre-tested questionnaire. Data-gathering instrumentrnconsisted of two parts. The first part consisted of questions on demographic information and thernsecond part was the Walton’s quality of work life questionnaire. Data was analysed using SPSSrnversion 20 software. For statistical analysis, one way ANOVA were used to identify determinantsrnand p value 0.05).rnConclusions: Majority of Nurses' quality of work life was at the moderate level. Educationalrnstatus, work unit and attending training are factors with significantly associated to quality ofrnwork life of the respondent an important impact on relevant to nurses’ quality of work life.
