The philological study of Arabic manuscripts in Ethiopia in general and the collecting andrncataloguing of Arabic manuscripts in particular has been neglected, though some foreign andrnlocal scholars have tried to fill the gap.rnThe main aim of this research is to give an insight about some of the manuscripts in the custodyrnof Dr. Jeylan Kedir by cataloguing and describing some selected Arabic mss in his privaterncollection. The study also includes the biography of the owner of the collection who has had arnsignificant role in collecting the Arabic manuscripts, now about 125.rnThe researcher catalogued only 18 Arabic manuscripts.
