Brucea antidysenterica is a medicinal plant used for different aliments including dysentery andrnnon-healing wounds. Wound healing, antibacterial, antiinflammatory and antioxidant activities ofrnthe crude leaf extracts were reported to be promising. The aim of this study was to examinernwound healing and antibacterial activity of solvent fractions of 80% methanol leaf extract of B.rnantidysenterica. The crude leaf extract was fractionated with water, n-butanol and chloroform.rnSolvent fractions were formulated as 2% and 4% ointment bases. Excision and incision modelsrnwere used to determine wound healing activity. Wound contraction rate, period ofrnepithelialization and breaking strength determined. In vitro antibacterial activities of solventrnfractions were tested. 2% and 4% aqueous fractions (AF) showed wound healing activity thoughrnn-butanol (BF) and chloroform fractions (CF) appeared to have delayed wound healing orrnexacerbating effect. At the end of treatment period, 2% and 4% AF significantly increased woundrncontraction (p
