In the present work we compared some new constants for the empirical relation of stoppingrnpowers of alpha particles in the energy range 4 À€€ 15Mev=amu for elements Al,Cu,Ge,Agrnand Au obtained from calculation of empirical formula and measurements of stoppingrnand range of ions in matter (SRIM-2000). The range formulas were obtained by directlyrnintegrating the stopping power formula of alpha particles and the values of the ranges forrnthe elements are calculated and compared with SRIM-2000. The alpha energy losses havernbeen obtained from calculation for the elements source using alpha particle target; suchrnlosses are deviated signi cantly from SRIM-2000 result. The deviation suggested that thernstopping powers and range given from SRIM-2000 is too small.These relations have beenrnalso used to nd out stopping powers and ranges in semiconductors
