A microscopic heat engine is modeled as a Brownian particle which moves throughrna highly viscous medium, in an alternately placed hot and cold heat baths, in arnperiodic asymmetric saw-tooth potential. Expressions for unidirectional probabilityrncurrent density (due to thermal variation) as well as energetics of the engine are foundrnin terms of parameters of the engine for two cases: in the presence and absence ofrnstatic external force. Power output and efficiency at maximum power and maximumrnefficiency regimes are studied numerically for both cases
