Graphene is a new two-dimensional material prepared succesfully in experiments several yearsrnago. It is a single layer of carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal (honeycomb) lattice. Therntwo-dimensional nature of graphene leads to many intersting electronic, thermal, optical trans-rnparency, and high mobility properties. One particularly interesting property of graphene is thatrnit exhibits the quantum Hall e ect at room temperature.
