We have employed the frame work of the Bethe-Salpeter equation under Covariant InstantaneousrnAnsatz to calculate the leptonic decay constant of pion and have also reviewedrncalculation of leptonic decay constants of unequal mass pseudoscalar mesons. In thernDirac structure of BS wave function, the covariants are incorporated in accordance with arnrecently proposed power counting rule. The decay constants are calculated with incorporationrnof both Leading-Orders (LO) as well as Next-to-Leading-Order (NLO) covariants.rnThe main contribution of this thesis is an alternative derivation of pion leptonic decayrnconstant which hopefully should raise the contribution of LO covariants in comparisionrnto NLO covariants and hence validating the power counting rue for pion
