Maternal health refers to the health of women during pregnancy, childbirth, and thernpostpartum period. It encompasses the health care dimensions of family planning, prenatal, rndelivery and postnatal care in order to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality.rnComplications of pregnancy and childbirth are the leading causes of disability and deathrnamong women in the reproductive age (15-49) years in developing countries (WHO, 2009).rnThe purpose of this study is to measure level and trends in selected maternal health servicesrnduring pre and post-intervention period of the Health Extension Program in Meket Woreda,rnAmhara Region using administrative data extracted from the woreda health office. In thisrnstudy, administrative data from July 2001 – June 2017 based on HEP from Meket Woreda wasrnused for analysis of levels and trends in maternal health service utilizations. Due to the timernseries nature of data being used, polynomial regression trend models with ARIMA specificationrnwas fitted for residuals in order to make appropriate inferences. The finding reveal that therernhas been an overall increasing trend in antenatal care, HIV test, delivery care, family planningrnand postnatal care service utilizations after the introduction of the health extension programrnin the woreda. As literacy and socio-economic status of the population improve, the demandrnfor quality and comprehensive services also increases. Besides, changes in demographic trendsrnand urbanization require more comprehensive services covering a wide range of quality healthrnservices. So a potential researcher may include those variables to do further researches in thernarea by widening the scope of the study.
