ERP projects are complex purposes which influence main internal and external operations ofrncompanies. The success of the project directly influences the performance of the organization.rnRecent research has methodically collected plausible data in the field of critical success factorsrn(CSFs) within ERP projects. The overarching objective of the study is to identify and describernthe main CSFs and how they can be ranked according to the importance to success of thernproject. Because of the influence of CSFs to ERP-projects in general, the term “ERP project†isrnused in the further parts of this paper. Both primary and secondary data were used to meet thernobjective of the study. A total of 24 project managers and project team members wererninterviewed with triangulation of data from desktop sources. Data was analyzed descriptively. Inrnterms of result, it is found out twenty critical success factors from literatures for successfulrnimplementation of ERP systems and from them the important critical factors are ranked in orderrnof importance. Factors such as project planning and strategy, top management support, projectrnmanagement and leadership, capability of consultants, change management and communication,rnand overall knowledge transfer are among the factors identified as critical for ERP systemrnimplementation in Commercial Bank of Ethiopian. This study will be significant to projectrnmanagers, especially in organizations that have recently implemented or are in the process ofrnimplementing the ERP systems
