Assessment Of Project Risk Management Practices The Case Of Commercial Bank Of Ethiopia Information Technology Infrastructure Library (itil) Project

The main objective of the study was to assess the practice of project risk management inrncommercial bank of Ethiopia by taking information technology infrastructure library project as arncase study. Descriptive research design was applied and data were collected through closeendedrnquestionnaire, interview and document review. The total populations of the study were 21rnand questionnaires were distributed to them. Respondents were experts of project managementrnoffice, project teams and project manager. Quantitative data’s were analyzed by using StatisticalrnPackages for social science (SPSS) version 23 and qualitative analysis were made by relatingrnliterature. The finding shows that the risk identification and risk response were fairly practiced.rnHence, the project mainly faces operational and technical risks and the mainly used riskrnresponses strategies were mitigate and transfer. Plan risks, risk analysis, risk control as well asrnthe general practice of project risk management were poor. As a recommendation the bankrnshould follow formal or standardize risk management process like plan risk management,rnidentify risks, risk analysis (qualitative and quantitative), risk response and risk controlrnprocesses and put input, output, and tools and techniques to them. So future projects canrnmitigate or prevent risks and increase opportunities.
