NGOs engage in different developmental projects around the world. Nonethelessrnsuccessful implementation of these projects is a challenge in most countries. This is alsorntrue in Ethiopia. Scholars like Cummings, Heeks & Huysman, (2003) state thatrnimplementing KM practices is important to increase the success of developmentalrnprogrammes. This study tries to assess the cuurent(2020) knowledge management practicernof an international NGO that has been operating in Ethiopia for over 30 years; namelyrnCARE Ethiopia. The objective of this study is to assess the level of the three key KMrndimensions (OKM strategy, OKM culture and OKM process/technology) at CARErnEthiopia. The paper is a descriptive research that uses both quantitative and qualitativernapproaches. Probability- simple random sampling was used to design the sample of thernstudy. All employees working for development programmes at the head office werernconsidered as a sampling frame. Literature in regards to KM indicates the lack of papersrndone using a standardized multidimensional scale. To bridge this gap, this paper uses arnstandardized multidimensional questioner called the USQ KM scale instrument. It uses therninstrument to quantitatively asses the three key dimensions of OKM. Furthermore, tornsupport the quantitative data, an interview was made with three managers fom therndepartment of program quality and learning. The data gathered was analyzed usingrndescriptive statistical technique by Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS)rnsoftware. The Results of the study shows that while KM is generally acknowledged andrnpracticed, the process/technology dimension of OKM is not as adequately established inrnCARE Ethiopia as OKM strategy and OKM culture are. The study strongly suggests thatrnCARE Ethiopia standardizes and make its KM process formal and deliberate.
