From time immemorial, the role of leaders in ensuring excellent organizational performancerncannot be over emphasized. The need for adequate motivation, suitable working environment,rncompensation and efficient communication between employers and employees are important tornpromoting excellent organization performance. Though studies on leadership role amongstrnemployees are well studied in developed countries, less could be said of in developing countriesrnlike Ethiopa. Therefore, it was important to evaluate leadership and organizational performancernin small- scale industries in Alatawondo, sidama zone, SNNPR, Ethiopa. The evaluation wasrndone through use of questionnaires with questions tailored towards determining: the relationshiprnbetween leadership and organizational performance, style of leadership and its effect onrnorganizational performance, the factors responsible for worker’s low performance and howrnleadership style has affected labor management relations and productivity in the study area. Afterrnanalyzing the result, it was concluded that to attain the objectives of small-scale industries inrnAlata wondo, it was necessary that leadership recognizes the needs of the workers, employrnappropriate motivational tool such as promotion of staff based on merit and skills, providernsuitable working environment and provide an appropriate leadership style that will encouragernfree flow of information among employer, superior officers and other employees
