This study attempts to evaluate job satisfaction of bank employees in Commercial Bank ofrnEthiopia (CBE) and Dashen Bank (DB). It focuses on the relative importance of job satisfactionrnfactors and their impacts on the overall job satisfaction of employees, and also it tried to fill therngap by empirically testing the variables including Pay, Promotion, Supervision, Fringe Benefit,rnContingent Reward, Operating Procedure, Co-worker, Nature of work, and Communications onrnemployees job satisfaction. It is a cross sectional case study by using survey data collectionrnmethod. A quantitative methodology was used and questionnaires were used as measuringrninstrument. The result has been analyzed in terms of descriptive statistic followed by inferentialrnstatistic on the variables. The result indicated that there is a significant and positive relationshiprnbetween all of independent variables and dependent variables. The present study highlighted thernvarious dimensions necessary for motivating employees to improve the quality of service in thernbank sector. Findings showed that DB bank employees have more job satisfaction than CBErnemployees. The study setting comprised only two banks, one private bank and one public bank;rnfuture study could include other private banks so that results could be generalized widely.
