The purpose of this study is to evaluate the transport system for disables’ regarding relatedrnpolicy implementation in Addis Ababa City. The paper has administrative, policy and academicrnsignificances. This research covers spatially those organizations working in Addis Ababa,rnEthiopian National Association of the Blind, the Ethiopian National Association of thernPhysically Handicapped and the Ethiopian National Association of the Deaf. Thematically thernresearch limited to the evaluation of the road transport system for the people with disabilitiesrnagainst the related policy implementation. Both qualitative and quantitative approaches werernused and descriptive research method. These Participants of the research were selectedrnrandomly using small population size sampling method, and from the selected sample first handrndata collected through questionnaires, semi-structured interview, focus group discussion andrnobservation. Secondary data were collected from published and unpublished, hard and soft copyrndocuments. After collecting primary and secondary data, both qualitative and quantitative datarnanalysis methods were used to analyze the data and presented in tables, figures and in textrnforms.rnThe researcher found and concluded that the transport system for disabled people in Ethiopia isrninaccessible and the causes for inaccessibility are lack of infrastructure provision,rnenvironmental barrier, non-existent Law enforcement and lack of public awareness, poor designrnof flow entities or public transport, are identified as causes for transportation system problemrnfor disabled people. Moreover, Addis Ababa transport policy has limited emphasis for disablernand the policy is not implemented. Finally, the researchers recommend that infrastructurernshould be accessible, the vehicle design should be accommodative and the government shouldrnimplement the international agreements related with disables.
